Hotel la Spiaggia

Nice hotel with super friendly staff in a great location. Small walk (6 minutes) from the train station and directly across from a private beach (can enter but you have to pay). Staff is really helpful and friendly and will give you ideas on what to do if you aren't sure what to do. Had a great time. Only cons are the rooms are a little small and you can hear the trains but not that loud. I would definitely come back and get a room with the ocean view.

ocation is everything for this hotel, it is amazing! There are restaurants everywhere in Monterosso (and Cinque Terre in general so that is not anything to worry about) but this hotel is right along the beach, as well as being only a 2 minute walk from the train station, which makes it easy for traveling around the villages with the train pass. The hotel is also very easy to find which I find to be a bonus. The front desk staff were all very lovely to deal with. They were friendly and provided us with many restaurants in Monterosso, as well as a few in the neighbouring villages. They also called to get reservations for us and subsequently ended up getting us tables with the best views at the restaurants. The room was nice. It took a while for us to figure out the air conditioning, but once we got it workinf, wow, it worked great. The room and the bathroom were very clean and facilities were nice. The bed could've been a bit more comfortable but it was enough to sleep on. It also had a small fridge and safe so no problems there. Breakfast was included and had a good overall selection. Coffee was ok for being free. There were a variety of pastries and marmalades, as well as having fruits, eggs, bacon, meats and cheeses. Overall I can't complain. We had a great time in Monterosso.

Just stayed here June 2023. Absolutely great location in front of the beach. Our rooms had small balconies with views of the beach. I booked several months ahead of stay so was able to get those rooms. Easy walk from train and to many restaurants and the start of the trail to Vernazza. The rooms are small and very very basic. But for the location, 250 Euro a night/room is very reasonable. The breakfast included was very good. (So much better than the breakfasts that are included in American hotels like Homewood suites, which I can't eat at all). There was a little noise the first night but not bad. The front desk staff are friendly and have great recommendations. My biggest complaint was how hard my bed was. My daughters - in a different room - had beds that were much more comfortable, but not great. I made a complaint about my bed and they acted surprised and said no one had ever complained. I have a hard time believing this, but maybe other people aren't as sensitive to rock hard beds.

This was one of the WORST experiences with a hotel I have ever stayed at. We are tourists and came back to our hotel in the middle of the night and our room was flooded. All of my belongings were ruined and they refused to give us any discounted price. Instead, they made us walk with all of our luggage to another, terrible hotel and pay for our stay there. DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to interact with friendly understanding people. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

The location is great, and the breakfast was good, that's what gets them two stars. The actual room is tiny, and the walls are so thin you hear pretty much everything, so sleeping can be challenging, especially with the train right behind. The worst part was the owner, or whoever was the lady during check-in. Apparently because she wanted to use the parking spot that should be available for guests, then I was without one and had to pay to park overnight at the public parking that's across the street. She's the main reason why I would not recommend nor go back to this place.
